Prep Volleyball National Junior of the Year Finalists

Shaye Eggleston, 6-1 OH, Brentwood (Tennessee) – Considered by many the best outside hitter in the state of Tennessee, Eggleston led the Bruins to yet another large-class state title in 2019. The Alabama commit finished her junior year with 856 kills, 444 digs, 87 aces and 80 blocks over 149 sets. She will certainly be named First Team All-State and will add that recognition to already being named District 12-AAA MVP, Region 6-AAA Tournament MVP and First Team All-Midstate. “Shaye has had a massive impact on our team,” said coach Barbara Campbell. “She crushes ball from anywhere, even with her serve. She is explosive, strong, dominating, a fierce competitor and projects a powerful image. She accepted tremendous responsibility for team. Her elite athleticism separates her from the rest.”

Lauren Starcke, 5-6 libero, Nolensville (Tennessee) – The Knights won 42 matches and their first Tennessee AA title in 2019. Starcke was a huge reason why. The District 9-AA MVP had 655 digs, including 36 in the four-set finals win over Portland; and added 65 aces. Starcke also was named First Team All-Midstate and is a lock to make the All-State team.

She set the school’s single-season assists record with 1,746 while leading Brentwood to 54 wins and another Tennessee large-class state title. Drazek, who has signed to play volleyball at Army, also contributed 277 digs and 45 aces for a team that finished No. 39 nationally. She was named All-District, All-District Tournament MVP, State Tournament MVP, First Team All-Midstate and will be All-State when it is released. “On the volleyball court, Piper is talented, skillful, an all-out giver, and generates positive momentum with her effort and encouragement to her teammates,” said Brentwood head coach Barbara Campbell.  “She is filled with determination, a fighting spirit, and a team attitude of unselfishness.  Piper accepted her leadership role to lead the team offensively and has demonstrated mental toughness staying cool and calm under pressure.  She combines quickness, strength, and a high volleyball IQ to quarterback our team.  She is the player she is today because of hard, productive work, and her commitment to continuous improvement.”

PrepVolleyball Class of 2020 Senior Aces

TPV's very own Gracelyn “GG” Carvacho named to the PrepVolleyball Senior Aces. The Senior Aces are the top 100 Senior recruits in the Class of 2020

Gracelyn “GG” Carvacho, 6-4 OH,  Station Camp (Gallatin, Tennessee), Tennessee Performance Volleyball – Ole Miss
A tall outside with six-rotation ability, Carvacho has huge hitting range across the court.  A lethal threat from the outside or back row, “GG” is a force to be reckoned with on the court at all times. Touting a blistering attack both line and cross, Carvacho will frustrate defenses with her court vision and shot selection. Her ability to terminate from all spots on the floor, combined with a powerful swing and high contact point, make her a blocking nightmare both in and out of system. Touching 10-3 and standing almost 6-5, Carvacho presents a big block on the left side. She also takes pride in her back row game. Noting that the value and importance of the team’s success is based on the first contact, Carvacho has taken a rigorous approach in training her platform, court vision and lateral quickness to become a top-level ball-control outside. A member of the Chilean National Team, she competed in Peru in May. She’ll be at Ole Miss in January, as she will graduate a semester early. That will help her get ahead in her strength and conditioning. Carvacho, who is laser-focused on making an impact at the next level, is the kind of player who can help Ole Miss make a move in the SEC standings early in her career.
